cool pic. the detail reminds me of old Warren Magazines or Bernie Wrightson Frankenstein work. Great workmanship. great pic.

Now that is a complement I fear may be to large for me. Wrightson was one that my mentor suggested I study, but I'd put him out of my head by the time I'd come to ink this one. I guess I just let go and went with it. I'm glad it turned out so well.
Thanks for the compliment

Thanks, I had a fun shading this. I really don't think I'm going to get the whole "west coast" inking thing anytime soon though LOL this style works to well with my pencils

west coast? What about Berni Wrightson? [link] [link] [link] he isnt west coast! or simon bisley or all of those other Euro uber-inkers?

Thanks I needed a good reminder like that. Sometimes I get so caught up wanting to "draw like those guys" (meaning the ultra cool guys who get thousands of pageviews a day) that I forget to just be true to the form in which I express myself.
The links you gave are all great, and I'm familiar with quite a few of them, but it's nice to be reminded once in a while that this kind of "comic art" is OK.
Thanks

That's cool; I take it that the monster in the upper left is the twisted angel?
I can't wait for this to come out it looks really great!

Sorry, but the monster in the upper left is not the angel, he's a lesser deamon, set to guard Sharde (a girl who has a mystical sigil locked inside her, which cannot be removed forcefully) until it's master can devise a way to trick her into giving up the sigil. The angel of which you speak is ---> [link]

jeez...how many bottles of ink did you use on this? hahaha, great work my friend!

QuestingRaven In reply to Arkagiel [2006-01-22 15:33:26 +0000 UTC]
No bottles of ink were consumed in the making of this film ... sorry wrong notice. Seriously though, I used a Fabercastle brush pen, a .01 Microline and a .005 Microline, and they're still fighting the good fight after going through all that work. (I should give those guys a raise).

Thanks, I don't think I'll ever be able to get a handle on "west coast" style inking, or computer augmentation for that matter, so I've got to make the materials at hand count

Sorry 'bout the bleeding eyes. There's more coming, so you might want to keep a pair of tissues available. I'm liking how the combination of brush and extreme hatching works out with my pencil style, so I think I'm going to keep at it

Very cool! Wonderful high detailed job! Are you making comics with these characters? Looks so interesting...

QuestingRaven In reply to danuskocampos [2006-01-22 15:27:24 +0000 UTC]
These might actually survive long enough to make it to the comic. The previous incarnation of the Twilight Hour had four characters who got some air time on DA, but never actually made it to a comic page. In fact, the supporting cast of Angels had more comic time than the actual TH characters LOL. I guess I'm still trying to find that "perfect" group for the story.
