Description
A loner, lost in the urban wilderness, Shang searches for meaning to his existence, and is pulled into the intrigues that surround Jericho and Nariko.Shown here in the Wapakeetum Nature Preserve searching for signs of his errant father, Shang is no stranger to suffering, as he recently eluded a pack of werewolves.

This is completely traditional media. I used pen and ink for the line work. The colors were created with PrismaColor markers and pencils.

I don't know if this'll sound odd but I really like how you've done his lips - they look dead good! The overall image is great, as per your usual high standard

My next area of experimentation will be watercolor, I would have liked to have tackled this piece with them, but I'm sure more opportunities will present themselves.

Oh! No complaints; no heavy critiques since I missed the drawing phase of this one (and even then it wouldn't have been much). I really love the bright contrast of the orange/blue/green scheme. I'm glad that you worked some warm colors into the rock on which Shang is perched; that helps to anchor him to the ground. I might have liked to see some of the blues and greens worked into Shang so that the colors are better balanced throughout the composition, or perhaps have orange or pinky-orange worked into the background a little more because the colors *do* jar a little bit.
Then again, if I were to see this guy on the cover of a comic or magazine, it would have my attention immediately. So who's to say?

I have a horrid tendancy to muddy my colors to much when I try to out think them. This was an effort to do exactly the opposite. I fear if I'd have worked to much more into the colors, they would have turned out dull and muted *shrug* I'm still learning

Seriously though, excellent stuff. The background really gives the picture depth and the work you put into it is clear. His scars and expression give him a bit of a badass appearance. Fantastic.

Shang would win hands down. As a shifter, he heals at an increadible rate. I don't remember what Tygra's special thing was, but I don't think it would be enough to take down someone who can shift into a 8 foot tall, 500 pound mass of muscle and attitude, who just happens to be trained in hand to hand combat.

Oh my goodness! I absoltuely LOVE the coloring job here! His vibrant orange tiger skin is my favorite. Well, no wonder... I love tigers. They're such beautiful animals. And he is such a handsome anthro!

Firstly...I have to say that those colours certainly do grab my attention...the orange of his skin versus the softer browns and greens really hold this piece together nicely. Your crosshatching technique gives us some great detail to see at full view.
