"A bad dream"So, this isn't at all what I dream of, but how a bad dream often feels to me (and many others, I assume). You know, not quite a nightmare, but a dream where you're in an uncomfortable situation you can't seem to get away from? Yeah. No fun at all...
The "anatomy" in this is not good, because I know nothing about horses or how they work (and still I insist to draw them for some reason)
so sorry about that. I'll learn some day.
Anyway, I hope you're enjoying summer and everything's okay
I think I'll just go sleep now, because it's four in the morning or something here and the sun is rising

Don't be sad! We all do it, and plus the drawing is frigging amazing. They will go on a long emotional journey and learn to appreciate the pain and then there will be a movie made about them with a dramatic title.

I really love it, even if you don't know everything about horse anatomy, I still get the feeling of wildness from this picture...

And I wouldn't say I'm an expert on horse anatomy, but it looks pretty good apart from 3 things:
- The necks don't look like normal throats, rather scar-tissue-heavy (which I think is deliberate)
- The lifted foreleg on the far left bulging like there's a muscle on the cannon bone: Horses basically stand on one finger, so it's all tendons, no muscle, by that part. Example pic widehdwalls.com/images/big/hor… (the skin can get drawn taut, but it won't bulge out like it seems to in your pic)
- Your hooves look a little too stiffly connected to the legs: Front side of the hooves should lead up into the legs like you have, but the back side of the hooves come back in for a sort of notch before attaching to the legs... api.ning.com/files/Ibb1luuy5je… <<< Using the far left hoof as an example: It's a "/" shape at the front then a sort of jagged "S" at the back. Adds flexibility for walking (e.g. img15.deviantart.net/1dd6/i/20… )

You're absolutely right:
The necks were something I had big problems with from the start, because I just didn't get how they worked for some reason
(even with references) so I finally gave up and improvised them. However, I had NO idea what I did wrong with the hooves and why they kept looking so funny.
But now it's so obvious! Damn, I'm so blind!
It makes perfect sense, so thank you! I really appreciate this kind of "nitpicking" that helps me
