No matter what name is used, the war between the South American Federation and the American Commonwealth was the bloodiest and most devastating conflict since the Second Weltkrieg, lasting from 1950 to 1953 and claiming the lives of millions of people. It all started after the Second North American Civil War where the president of the victorious "Union of North American States", Huey Long, was overthrown by William Pelley and his "Silver Legions". After purging all opposition, Pelley reformed the country into the "Commonwealth of America", a fundamentalist Christian-Protestant state. A racist and totalitarian state where your future depended on whether you had the right ethnicity or faith, but also an imperialist state. Well, after only a year after its creation, they declared war on Mexico, conquering it in months, not satisfied with that, they invaded Canada, taking advantage of the fact that most of their forces were recovering the British Isles. With complete control of the North American continent, Pelley and his forces are concentrating on consolidating their power in the newly conquered territories, while all of South America was subjugated under the alliance between Argentina and Peru, thus forming the South American federation. Aware of the danger of the Commonwealth and the arrival of refugees with testimonies of terror about the Commonwealth, the South American federation prepared for the future war by investing in new weapons technologies.

It was after three long years of battles and more nuclear attacks that the Commonwealth of America ceased to exist, the conflict claiming the lives of millions of people and leaving the North American continent devastated. With radioactive zones and other places in complete anarchy as if it were the Wild West, the North American continent would take decades to recover and the future North American nations would rise from the ashes but would never be united again.
