By far one of my fav sci-fi movies of all time. Ridley Scott's ALIEN still inspires me as well as James Cameron's ALIENS! There should have only been those two films, the other ones just got in the way, not to mention the vs movies that totally bombed.

Nice one.
After all the decades that the Alien exists in media, these creatures still give me the creeps. While the Wolfman, Fred Krueger, Michael Myers et al. turned into "Well, howdy - wanna have a beer?" characters, the Alien remains "a survivor... unclouded by conscience, remorse, or delusions of morality", thus creepy as hell (also thanks to H.R. Giger, of course!).

I've got to say just one thing in defence of the third film, though. It was the first one to leave absolutely no cliffhanger and successfully stopping everything. It was perfect as an ending (but just as that, nothing more). The fourth film, however... now THAT should have never been made
And the CGI Xeno on the third film sucked... other than that, I have no real qualms.

You are right. The third wasn't bad at all! I really liked it and the fact this project was going through it's ups and downs, rewrites, story change! And that was thrown in the blind lap of a young film director by the Name David Fincher! I know for a fact Fincher would have made "ALIEN 3" a thousand times better! But for Finchers first movie it was very good! The story of Ripley should have ended in Aliens. And a new story would have emerged in part III.

ALIEN and ALIENS were my favs too, but I really loved AVP because the occasional CGI gave a new life to the Xenomorphs that the practical effects can't quite do. Not to mention I'm biased by the fact that the 2 AVP commentaries are amazing XD
Alien3 was ass imo, but Resurrection wasn't as bad as I thought after I learned more about the director who made it. Still kinda sucked though.
Anyway back to your picture:
This is probably my favorite Xeno picture of the year. Stunning colors, perfect composition. It really pulls me in and the emotions the image creates are conflicting and confusing, but that's what makes it fit so well. Idk, its just perfect. Expertly executed. Love it!

3. How to tell when it becomes just about the money 
Nicely rendered. I like that you put the most highligh on the forehead, that being the single most dominate feature of the monster.
