The Martian from the 1953 George Pal Sci-Fi classic ' WAR OF THE WORLDS !'
By far one my fave flicks in my top 20 all time best movies!
I first saw this film when I was a wee little lad, my dad had got a new RCA laser disk player and War of the Worlds was one of the first movies he had got. I still watch it from time to time. That creepy scene when the Martian is exposed and lays it's three digit hand on ann Robinson's shoulder.

It's such a strange and classic design. Very unique, I always loved the tricolor eye. That's REALLY what sells it as alien to me.

Heh, your tweaks to the design make it look better than the original makeup/effect. (Although the costume was coming apart due to being rushed at the last minute, so I probably shouldn't be so hard on the movie...) Still an excellent film after all these years.

i bought myself the dvd not two weeks ago, before that we also had it on laser disk, i was, like 4, but the player broke and you couldnt find a replacement.
i really love your piece, contrast everything is great and i have this nostalgic pang every time i look at it. great job!

I remember seeing this movie as the second feature at a drive in. (The first was Star Wars.)
I was scared as hell the first time I saw this movie! The second time I finally got to see it, and loved it!

This Martian to some thinking to get the colors right! Wanted that George Pal feel that was in the movie! All those high contrast splashes of red, green and blues!

The fiction project is a group here on deviantart, it uses a wikia and the raw creative power of people to create new and unique fictional universes
we create small universes, then once its complete move onto another
the rules are simple and anyone can edit the wiki, add whatever they want that follows the rules.
The only downside is not entirely a downside, its the fact that when one project is active its the focus of the project.
