KAMEHAMEHAAAAAA--Another quick DBZ paint since Chala-head-chala came on my iTunes playlist and I needed something to take a break from my homework/Manga.Son-Gohan in SSJ2 form. Loved him, until he grew up, turned weak and retarded to the point where he was just another canon fodder Z-fighter.
Really upset when Toriyama decided to screw him over in favor of Goku especially with all that "hidden power" build up he had us on. Gohan could've provided so much in character development and the theme of passing things on to the next generation. BLARG

I actually remember one scene in GT, when all the past villains came back, and Gohan blew up Frieza with ONE punch to the gut. The same guy it took his dad going Super Saiyan to finally beat by the skin of his ass, his son beats at normal power with ONE punch!! XD

TOTALLY AGREE!!! Gohan severely disappointed me in the Buu saga and continued to further disappoint me in GT, he had SOOOOO much potential

I've never watched DBZ, but Gohan is my favourite character. Even in several occasions he was more powerful than Goku (and he still is, if we don't count the GT series, in the DB MMORPG they never happened)

ehh, I was told that it wasn't Toriyama that screwed up. He stopped writing it and left it to some one else. Hence Dragon Ball Kai. (Toriyama went back and fixed everything from the anime that was messed up in Z series anyhow.)

Incidentally, I had always heard that Toriyama has intended to make Son Gohan the hero but the publishers wanted to keep the focus on Goku. Because they were afraid changing heroes would upset their ability to milk the cash cow.

Gohan wasn't cool UNTIL he grew up. He was insufferable in the Cell arc. He always needed daddy, couldn't do anything without his father there to smack him around and tell him to stop being a baby. Like Piccolo's training meant nothing. In fact, his whiny "I can't do it" attitude is what got his father killed.

i feel you man, they completely screwed gohan's character over. you can't make him super bad ass and then just turn him into a completely wack character. i'm just happy that great sayaman never existed in the manga, or so i hear.
