KAMEHAMEHAAAAAA--Another quick DBZ paint since Chala-head-chala came on my iTunes playlist and I needed something to take a break from my homework/Manga.Son-Gohan in SSJ2 form. Loved him, until he grew up, turned weak and retarded to the point where he was just another canon fodder Z-fighter.
Really upset when Toriyama decided to screw him over in favor of Goku especially with all that "hidden power" build up he had us on. Gohan could've provided so much in character development and the theme of passing things on to the next generation. BLARG

I wouldn't get rid of Goku entirely, that's just silly. He would've made a great support fighter with his SSJ3 shenanigans. He shouldn't have caved to making him the one and only protagonist for eternity ;/
It would've opened so much for character development. Choosing to make his own decisions over his mother to fulfill the responsibility of being Earth's protector? Perfect.

Oh I didn't mean it like saying goodbye forvever to Goku, that be absurd. But let Gohan have some more of the spotlight time.
And I had thought of Goku in the supportive role as well cause he's known for being supportive in no matter what he did. Like you said Gohan had huge potential for character development that will sadly never be seen.
Oh well there's always fanfic I guess. Hehehe!!

I couldn't agree more. Me and my bro would say the same thing, like after the Freeza arc (Amazing story, in my opinion the best saga in DBZ) The torch should have passed to Gohan. When he gained those mystic powers he was strong enough to kill Buu and we all know how that one ended. Still a great show.

Your artist's comments is my biggest gripe against DBZ; I, too, loved Gohan until Toriyama scrapped all that power and character development. This is a very cool picture, too: dynamic, a lot of implied action. It's your own style without actually losing Gohan.

Agreed...Gohan got short handed..He displayed all that awesome power..and then after Cell was defeated..he turned his back on all of that just to go to school to please Chi Chi. If he had of ditched school and spent all of that time training instead ((which is just what Goku would have done had he been in that situation)) Gohan wouldn't have been so easily defeated by Buu. Then again..if he hadn't of gone to high school he would never have met his future wife.

So totally agree with you on this one. Not upset that Chi Chi wanted her son to be brainy and strong, but all that potential was wasted...flushed down the tubes! I think making him more domestic killed off what could have been...when it comes to Gohan....and let's not even go into GT...boy how much of a cake boy did they make of Trunks, and Pan....OMGosh....why why why!!!

Yeah GT is best left forgotten..I mean they turned Trunks into a freaking business man..and Gohan became a super nerd...and well Goten..poor Goten..spent more time worrying about the ladies than he did keeping up with his training.

that is so awesome!!! i do agree with gohan's character getting the shaft in the series, they bring him about like hes going to be this almighty sayan, but in the end towards GT they make him wimpy, really dissapointing

Well, given, Toriyama didn't even want to do anything after Freeza, and then especially not after Cell, and when he did Buu he wanted Gohan to be the hero but the people he worked for told him to make Goku the hero.
