My brief for tafe was to create a clothing tag for jeans. I had to come up with a brand and style, and create something to suit it.

Confession: I hate jeans. I can never buy jeans that fit my thighs or are long enough. I have broken down in tears when trying on jeans in the past.

SO I knew my jean style would be aimed at curvy girls. They’d be stretchy and designed for big butts and thighs. I researched plus sized jeans and all the pics I saw were terrible. Unflattering, boring styles. They were all so sensible and conservative.

During this google search I saw a pic of a plus sized girl in peddle pushers, and I thought she looked absolutely fantastic. So I googled Rockabilly styles. With out fail, all the models were skinny white girls. But… all the hot rockabilly chicks I’m friends with are curvy girls. They look amazing. But lord, I doubt any of these boutiques designer pants would fit them. I looked through online stores and saw ‘large’ sizes that wouldn’t fit me. I got pretty pissed, actually.

So I knew I had to make my Brand and jeans all about plus size glamour. I wanted to use my illustration skills to put a literal sex kitten on the tag - a pin up with chunky arms, a big butt, big calves, chubby face. And fuck it, eating candy, too (though this is also because my artist name is Pulp Candy, not Kitten).

I wanted girly and soft, but a bit violent.

The pin up heart is a vinyl sticker that comes with the tag (the pink is the interior, the green the exterior, the red line is fold) so that if you bought these rocking, big thigh loving jeans, and felt like a sex kitten, you could slap that baby onto your car, laptop, fridge, anywhere.

I really, really want a pair of these jeans >: (.
