Or Click and see: [link] and download the gif file
You can open the psd file and use Photoshop to see. Or open the gif file by right click then choosing "open with" ->internet explore
I used polyline lasso tool to choose the filling area in almost cases. Call it in M.S by double press "L"
The trick of the trade is whick kind of tone to choose and what tool using to erase. So try working flexibly with it.
You don't need a tablet if you follow this guideline. A mouse is more than enough.
There a bunch of people asked me how to use screentones with Manga Studio, so I planned to make a video clip from the screen record result I did when working with Manga Studio for this pic [link] but the screen recorder fail suddenly when I almost done the work and there was no file, so I made this one instead of.
I'm planning to make another guideline clip when working with the next artwork, so if you need more concreting guideline or wanna know something more clearly, please comment, I'll keep your question in mind.
My network don't support for uploading, so I won't provide livestream.

Hi is it possible to increase the resolution of a manga studio pic for when it's in jpeg format? I'm currently working on a picture right now and it looks great on the program but in actual jpeg format it's horrible do I need to use another format or can it be changed on the program in some way? Oh and I like your pics there very nice.

Hm, when export the file, choose high res dpi, +300 for example. If you wanna export smaller file, you should choose grayscale or RPG but monochrome then it could appear well.

Ok so should I go ahead and finish my pic up before I export or should I be able to continue on the pic after I've exported it? Just making sure if I can continue to work with the layers of my pics because I'm still new to some things with the program. And I don't want to mess up and this cause the layers to merge and I not be able to finish work on layers I might have been working on lol. But if it doesn't do that then few all is well and I'll see if the pics resolution has improved hehehe. Anyway thanks for the help you've given.

MS have specific type of file, you can save the image as it then open to work with it later, with all the layer for sure. You don't have to mess up the layer even if you wanna export, just mess up if you wanna save the white ink effect because the white became transparent after the export command, you also can mess up the finished inking layer so you have more space for the RAM so it can work better.
To protect all the layer after export, choose export as photoshop file, and keep the layers. It's available in MS4

Your use of Manga Studio is one of the best around! I love this! You balance your tones very well. SO many people get overly "gray" images when they use Manga Studio, but yours is wonderful!

Thanks you!
I think just because people don't have the necessary experience. I learned all the traditional skill to drawing manga from a pro, include traditional toning. So I knew it's easier for us to work with Digital Screentone Library if we know the trick is how to erase the applying tone.
I guess the guideline work with Photoshop as well, but Photoshop don't have curves tool, so you need tablet in this case.

I erase my digital tones the same way I do my traditional ones, too. I find it so much easier to do!
