The first looks batty, cartoony, and overall just weird. The second one though is the type of stuff I'd expect to see from Legendary.

The first one is more the artist's style then anything else. It definitely lends an Otachi vibe to it - bricks would be shat if that Rodan was on screen and opened up its wings.
