FANART!It's Kuzco. Emperor Kuzco. From the Emperor's Groove. Best (animated) movie ever.
See, I've been watching the Emperor's New Groove again! Yay me! And to proove I can control myself I'm not even going to rant about how much I The Emperor's New School gets on my nerves. I'm not even going to point out that while Kuzco may be immature, selfish, sarcastic, and uncaring, he is reasonably smart in the movie and in the end overcomes his lesser qualities to become a well rounded human being, and yet in the show he is two steps away from being retarded (if even that far) and seems to have reverted back to self centered jerk Kuzco who seems to have been deprived of oxygen for some time.
I'm also not going to point out that the movie starts out a day before his eighteenth birthday and by the time the movie ends he is definately already 18. Also not gonna point out that Kronk is in his late twenties and mentions having gone to highschool in the past therefore there is no reason for him to be in highschool. Not going to say anything about the fact that Kuzco owns a house on the hill next to Pacha's and therefore wouldn't be living with him and his family.
Also I'm sure he's been well educated and even if they did force him to go to highschool, he wouldn't have much trouble with it let alone be half a step away from failing at every turn. And Yzma as principal? Ha! Even if they did cut of all his palace stuff and make him go to highschool, I'm sure one word from him and Yzma, excuse me Amzy, would be out of there.
Like I said. I'm going to control myself and refrain from ranting about any of that.... Ooops.
Anyway. I love Kuzco! I just can't stand what they did to him in Emperor's New School. Seriously thinking he was deprived of oxygen at some point between movie and series... Maybe he started reverting to his old jerky self and Pacha decided to rely on tough love to bring him round again and started strangling him, but accidently strangled him a bit longer than was necisary, thus retarded self centered Kuzco was born.

Awesome, I love it! And I agree with your mini rant, as much as I love the fact that they made a series about Kuzco, they definately didn't pull it off properly. There are WAY too many holes in the story. Makes me sad. Anyway, AMAZING drawing! I <3 Kuzco!

Kuzco's not like that! I mean, if you look at the first film, you can see that he's not like that. Sure, he maybe arrogant, but he's not a heartless person. Besides, he learn about the meaning of friendship since Pacha came. If it weren't for Pacha, Kuzco would've been more selfish while planning to build Kuzcotopia.
I preferred the original movie because his character is waaay better.

The school is called Kuzco Academy, yes. But what exactly do you think an academy is? I attended a Highschool called Arizona Academy of Science for a time. But you are right in some cases academy does not refer to highschool, so lets pick appart the definitions.
1. a secondary or high school, esp. a private one.
This is the first definition it that dictionary.com gives. It is also the one I'm bettering the show refers to. As Kuzco Academy looks like nothing other than a high school. But lets go through the others just in case.
2. a school or college for special instruction or training in a subject: a military academy.
Now, this might also be a possibility, though usually colleges aren't quite run like High Schools and Kuzco Academy most certainly is. Whats more Colleges don't usually require you to join clubs like the Junior Chipmunks to graduate. If it's not called Junior Chipmunks you'll just have to be patient with me as I kind of avoid watching the show, but distinctly remember an episode in which him earning a badge was a requirement for graduating... Moving on ward...
3. an association or institution for the advancement of art, literature, or science: the National Academy of Arts and Letters.
I don't think it's this definition either.
4. a group of authorities and leaders in a field of scholarship, art, etc., who are often permitted to dictate standards, prescribe methods, and criticize new ideas.
Nope, not this one...
5. the Academy, a. the Platonic school of philosophy or its adherents.
Don't even think Kuzco knows who Plato is nor do I think Kuzco Academy teaches about plato philosophies....
So in conclusion, Kuzco Academy is an Academy, but is also a High School.

i totally agree about emperor's new school, btw, it's nice to find someone else who can't stand it. and if i may add a point to your rant, if you're going to make a show about kuzco, at least get his original voice. david spade was perfect. end of rant.

I know how you feel about finding someone else who can't stand Emperor's New School. Everyone else just tells me to relax and that they couldn't make an interesting cartoon with Kuzco the way he should be. I think they definately could, and even if they couldn't, nothing would have been better than the train wreck that is New School. You're totally right about the voice thing. David Spade was a million times better than whoever they have doing him now, but my rant was focused more on the writing. Maybe I'll draw a Happy Kuzco later!

Thankies! I know about his earrings. Their overly large, stupid looking, seem like they'd hurt, and don't even match the rest of his outfit. Honestly, if an Emperor is going to wear big earrings, you'd at least expect them to be pretty fancy..
