The skull that this Pokémon carries on its' back is said to possess its' own colored aura, believed to be the soul of the person it once belonged to. A tradition in the Chesoga Region revolves around this Pokémon entirely. Once a year, swarms of Calaverantula will make their way to Grimoire Town, eagerly awaiting the people there to paint and decorate these skulls, which are thought to be carried off to the spirit world. Each Calaverantula is entrusted with a loved ones' skull, and it will protect it with its' life. Calaverantula also change colors based on the aura within these skulls, slightly altering their stats. On extremely rare occasions, a white Calaverantula will appear, and when it does, it is said to prevent any harm or damage to the skull it carries, making it highly sought after.
