I just overlayed a scratchy texture on the image and then painted some more details on top of that.

This is pretty cool! nice shining on the metal! I also like how you didn't fully extend the light-beam past the page-top. I think it helps compositionally, and also suggests that it just left the rifle.

Love the design of the robots face, has a nice personality to it that is missing from a lot of robots. He looks like an old and experienced bot too.

Cool pic, great perspective, good shading and lighting! though from the amount of incoming I wouldn't expect him/her/it to be around for very long. Great pic! BTW I said because a robot would have whatever gender mentality it was programed to have. The chassis would be irrelevant.
