The design of a brown deer with blue antlers has been in my head for some time, now, ever since I had a dream g0ats made one and I got jealous of it. I'm not sure why, it just sounded so damn cute, to me.

I finally got around to drawing it, with the help of some friends. Without their opinions and judgment, I likely would still be trying to decide which of my color schemes to use. I also want to thank everyone who answered the poll I posted, as that helped too!!

But mostly, I owe the thanks of helping this design finally come to life to my friend Shwonky , who not only kept me entertained & inspired during the majority of this project but also helped me generously with the design. It was her idea to add those stripe markings to the ears and neck; she even drew them out for me. Those markings seriously helped pull the facial design of the character together.

There's not much information on this guy, as he is a new character.

His name is pronounced "Oak-lah-nee," and is more commonly referred to as just "Oak."

He was originally meant to be Creek-Pawnee, but I figured just Creek would suffice. My family members refer to themselves mostly as Creek, anyhow, for whatever reason (I can't complain, I do it too). I also think the tribe name really fits his nature-bound personality.

Oklanē is also a Muscogee word meaning blue, & I felt that would fit with his blue antlers.

He is an admirer of the Earth, having a collection of things from the unused treasures he finds on the forest floor; dead leaves, stones, dried roots, and other various things (which he keeps in a satchel; he is a vagabond, and has no definite home). He is careful of what he takes, taking it only if he's sure that if it went missing it wouldn't greatly effect the ecosystem around him. He is a vegeterian/pescaterian for the same reason.

He leaves still growing plants, and respectfully buries the carcasses of the dead animals he comes across.

(I think his favorite finds are shed feathers and lost teeth.)

He combines what he gathers with natural twine to make organic dreamcatchers, which he either gives to those he meets in his journeys, or leaves in special places he feels need cleansing.

So, other than being very in-tune with the vibrations of Earth, I'm not sure there's too much to say about this guy.

He's very quiet, and keeps under the radar.
