Description
I was going to name it 'Nameless' but damn, I couldn't.It's one of those pieces I'm really proud of, and I can honestly say I like every single pixel of it.
So, yea, background planet is TG2 made, and some smaller too.
And I really hope you'll enjoy that piece.
This time no title-on-the-picture. Because I felt like I don't want to add any text there.
Cheers

epic texture or maybe render . How long did it took you to render the planet?

R3V4N In reply to ex0o [2010-07-09 11:41:14 +0000 UTC]
The background huge planet is a render, and curiously it didn't took too much to render as the planet itself doesn't have a lot of details except the mountains. Craters, lava and clouds are postwork in Photoshop
I don't remember exactly but it was around an hour.

Cool! the lighting in this makes it look like this planet is orbiting really close to a blue star, the sheer brightness in real life would be blinding and this planet seems to have temperatures that would incinerate you in seconds reminds me of the one in The Chronicles of Riddick

well, here is an example if you wanna peek [link] but instead of that, frog perspective from the floor, large boss to the right with his hands crossed on his back staring on the planet which takes the rest of the view c:

very good job mate, the only thing i can remark is that the edges of the planets seem to be too rough, but that could be due to the re-sampling done by dA.
keep it up

R3V4N In reply to n0n0nSenSe [2010-05-17 10:35:58 +0000 UTC]
I often oversharpen works, and then dA is making it's magic with resizing, and that might be the cause.. Or my oversharpen alone
Thanks
