Thank you! First I duplicated the layer with the circle and blurred the lower one. Then I colored the blurred cicle with a rather strong blue and set the layer mode to β€œdodge” (I'm pretty sure it was "dodge"). Then I colored the original sharp circle with a light blue and lowered the opacity of this layer to maybe about 45%. I'm experimenting much with the layer modes to get the colors I want, so it's a bit hard to remember afterwards.
