Description
This is obviously a comfort zone painting again.I've found out it feels pretty good to paint stuff I'm not really used to and the usual aliens in turns, rather than sticking to one of both for a longer time.

I agree with perzarus....comfort zone or not, it's a great work!Β Β
You have an unique style, I hesitate experimental things. Do you tried a lot of things before you got this comfort zone?

Thanks so much, Emy!
I've tried many styles and techniques (surreal stuff with airbrush, a bit realism with gouache and acrylics, rather rough abstract paintings, digital illustrations for children's books... and so on). Funnily I've always switched to the next thing after I got a bit comfortable with a technique. Seems like this is first time I stick to a style for a longer time.

Nice! You tried a lot of things!Β
You were never comfortable with other styles, seems like you finally found yours
But even this, if you change something it'll be great to try new things Β Β

Beware!Β Β
Haha, didn't mean to scare you. Β
IRL, I'm just super observant of my surroundings (excellent survival tactic!). If I go to a new place, chances are that I'll be able to recollect even the tiniest of details and absorb them in.Β Like in a new room, I'd remember what was kept where or
a new street and I'll remember shops, colours, landmarks. People call me 'the navigator', they don't need GPS when I'm around, lol. xD

its look 3D.
And when I just look at it, everything around it just dims down, like the surroundings get darker.

That's great to hear! When I look at it for a while the alien starts to grow somehow. O_O

I totally agree with Richard and I like to see the difference between the different styles, R.
I'm looking forward to see your next step out of your comfort zone.

The light and flat background gives the feeling that he is the most "concrete" between your aliens. Beautifully done.

Krita for the sketch and underpainting, MyPaint for shading (because of the awesome and unique shading brush) and Gimp for everything else.

I would prefer to have all the goodies in only one program, but I got used to this work flow (like other people who use Corel Painter or SAI in combination with Photoshop for example).

I noticed most professionals use a sai/shop combo, for me it's sai/krita
