Description These are creepy parasites that will feature in my story The Way of The Melody. These are assorted types of Synthoids (or in one case, a plant/animal hybrid created by a Synthoid), a kind of parasite used to create Reconstructed (purple eyed zombies) So Genifa and the group she leads, Fortissimo, will have to deal with these. There's a bit of inspiration from the Resident Evil games, as well as Splatterhouse (look at the Voreworm if you don't believe me)

Starting upper-right, and going counter-clockwise, I'll explain them.

Voreworm: They are remarkably fast, and dangerous. They can leap quick distances, and easily chew through flesh and thin armor. Some Reconstructed have them, and it will come out if the Reconstructed is critically injured.  They also lie in wait inside bodies that can't be converted into Reconstructed. They've also been known to create "hives", where tens of these lie in wait.

Spikeworm: A more dangerous variant of the Voreworm. It has retractable spikes all over its body. While the normal Voreworm's head is the most dangerous, Spikeworms have spikes almost everywhere on their body.

Killer Pineapple: Synthoid DNA put into pineapples in stores, and once they mature, the fruit is converted into this monster. Some of them grow hands on retractable vines. They're also a way of delivering Synthoids.

Wingle Whip: It's originally a plant, but its DNA was corrupted to create this dangerous Synthoid, that can come out of its host if the host is damaged, and whip, or even strangle, if needed. A bit inspired by the Cephalo (Resident Evil 5). It generally cannot act independently from the host, but can help "repair" the host if need be.

Deadly Longlegs: A litteral translation of its Pavonian name, and also a convenient pun due to its resemblance to the Daddy Long Legs of Earth. These arachnid parasites each have three eyes that can look around in all directions, and see things on different spectrums, even detect electrical energies and certain types of mystical/magical/spirit/psionic energies. Its legs also act as feelers, and act as antennae, used to relay what they sense to other Synthoids and Reconstructed. They can also pierce skin, and inject acid. The mouth has claws for manipulation, and has a spiked tongue for biting and injecting. When a Deadly Longlegs is attached to a Reconstructed, it can synthesize poisons and acids from the circulatory system of the host to act as a weapon, but they can and will break away if the host is in trouble, some hosts with multiple Synthoids may deliberately detach a Deadly Longlegs for any number of reasons.

"Big Boil": They seem to be an earlier, less mature form of Synthoid, and unlike many of the others, they cannot act independently from the host. Some of them have teeth, but they usually defend themselves by spraying aerosolised poisons and mists.

Eat Me Up: The name comes from the fact they are usually force-fed to victims, using their tentacles to resist any attempt to force them out. Once inside the victim, this hydrochloric acid resistant parasite will set up connections, and attach itself to both the nervous system and the circulatory system, and use chemicals to alter the blood, and use special cells that alter the host's DNA and cause mutations.

These were originally going to be called Synthroids, but that is a kind of drug, so...Synthoids it is.
