Description
This is a map of Pern, from Anne McCaffrey's novels (The Dragonriders of Pern), of which I am a huge fan. This is a subdued color wallpaper designed to mimic and old map I found once - in color and texture. I had scanned the original to get the bumpy texture from it to use as an overlay on this (made it almost transparent, sharpened it and sharpened it until I could erase just the map from the layer and then made the fold/crushed creases less transparent). The map of Pern itself is based on one I drew from looking at the inside of many books - and from refering to "The Atlas of Pern" (by Karen Wynn Fonstad) to correct an awful scan of the source map which was a printed map given to me by a friend. The original map that resulted will be on an upcoming submitted wallpaper.

This is designed for a 1280x1024 Desktop. The 1024 and 800 resolution versions are coming soon.
