Description
Only fair to show a pic of a con crimefighter.Sam & Max Freelance Police, stars of video games, cartoon shows and their own VERY hilarious comics.
This is a fan made costume from San Diego Comic ConΒ 2009.
Those who know the characters will tell you that is the only way to keep Max (or is it Sam?) out of trouble.

Sam would count as a fursuit. But Max is a plush.

okay... well the furry fandom is nice and all but the so called fursuits aren't needed in it from my point of view

Well just like any branch of fandom, costumes are a BIG part of any conventions.
In my mind they add a great sense of fantasy to the event whether it be fursuits, cosplay or promo suits.

Remember that con was 20 years ago.
And even with the Vicky Rabbit bit it was more in naughty fun, after all the song was from a Disney film.
Truth is if you'd gone to an anime con you'd have found a lot of X rated anime and manga for sale. Still will these days too.
Take a look at an Anthrocon or Further Confusion fursuit parade (videos on YouTube) and you'll see a lot of goofiness, compare it to ComiCon's cosplayers many VERY sexy, same with anime cons.
I'm not saying furries are innocent, just that in the overall picture they're not much different than any branch of fandom and I was also going to anime cons and San Diego Comic Con back then.
As the internet caused fandom to grow and also attendance to grow at all cons they adapted more of a family friendly attitude.

goofiness? lol I know... I have many friends into that, that's why I say what cons are...I don't mean in generalΒ but from what some of my friends have shown me. I know about anime, ive seen themΒ and even so I like em as much as furcons... and 20 years ago, my friend called samdark who showed me furries, said they are almost the same today... well leastΒ he said furry fiesta in TX

Furry Fiesta is still a relatively new con.
I'm just back from Anthrocon where you'd be amazed at how well the town takes to the con.
Restaurants and bars around the center have specials for con goers.
Most of the hotels are a couple of blocks from the con so every day there are fursuiters walking back and forth in costume.
Drivers honk and wave and there are always people taking pics with lots of families getting in group shots with them.

all I know is that that place you speak off is the biggest con in the furry world and the most hated for obvious reasons...actual trolls thinks its all sexual, I know its not, but still not something I would care for

Heh, very cool! I enjoyed Sam & Max a lot.
Generally, I think it was Max who needed to be kept out of trouble, too, though all things considered they both had a way of attracting it - or stirring it up.

In the first couple of appearances it was sort of a running joke that even they were not sure who was Sam and who was Max.

Ah, OK; I only read the comics (and played the game).

That's what I meant.
They started out in comics and gradually expanded.
All without ever having a regular comic series, just some specials.

Hehe, that's awesome. Sam and Max!
Is Spike and Mike's Festival of Animation still around?

Spike and Mike stopped doing their shows I think in 2003 or so.
They do get a DVD release every now and then.

With YouTube these days there's just not much of a theatrical market for indie animation.
