A gift for a lovely friend.Gwen from the tv show Merlin.
I'm not totally pleased, but it needed to be done.

So good! I really like the curls of her hair, for some reason. Very springy and light.

Its all thanks to my baby tablet. I've also been trying some 'skin texture' brushes. Which sounds pretty creepy but work pretty well. Also, about a hundred layers.
Thanks! Curly hair is hard to get right. :/ I don't envy the animators of brave.

I am a huge fan of texture brushes, especially since I'm stuck with mouse rendering until I can afford a tablet.
Hundreds of layers...meep! That sounds daunting, lol. I don't think I've gone more than 40; waaaay too much to keep track of. Do you name each one like many of the tutorials suggest?
I wonder if they don't have programs to govern the curls. I remember in some of the Toy Story movies they mentioned writing programs to make the trees and grass blow in the wind. *shrugs* More techy stuff than I could ever pull off, lol.

I guess I just worked on it too long. :/ I don't think its a great likeness and her eyes weird me out, but 10 million hours later I just need to move on. lol. I'll probably like her more when I come back to it in a month.
