Description
I went with the quoyi species of parrotfish as the color scheme's point of departure. I've been working on this guy's head most of the afternoon as I work to establish the color scheme and the gradients. I'll work with the same color elements and gradients for the flippers as you see in his jaw-frills. I haven't entirely decided how I want to handle his scales. I'm staring at the parrotfish while trying to figure out how much of its pinky-orange I want to pick up, and how best to balance that with the greenish turquoise that I'm using as the base color.This is Prismacolor pencil over the watercolor base.
