I was going for a different kind of dragon design - well, different from the more anatomically accurate dragons that I ususally do. I think this works well in this instance and I also think I may play around with abstract effects a bit more with my dragon designs just to shake up my overall design sense.

I love making the colors dance - I've found through experimentation that blue-green/red-orange combination is one of the ones that seems to work the best. So I use it to death.

This is ttally reminicent of when I first started watching you and you always had dragons and random beasts running around your gallery. XD

This is just lovely though. The strong colors, the small mount of green that flows so well with the strong reds going throughout the picture and the orange outlines with the blueshading. Just all those small hints really help bring the dragon out. He has such a harsh evil look to his face as well, he seems so strong and so horrid. As in, horrid to be around. nice work. Sometimes the most random of things turns out to be awesome. x3

I plan to cut loose with more of the random beasties now that I have most of the requests out of the way. I have a whole wall full of crazy dragons and other critters whose drawings I'm eager to get underway.
