I'm glad you like my [finally finished *mumblemumble* years later] version! Β I did make a few prints. Β

So pretty. Love the mix of cool colors having a hint of warm to stand out.

I love all the blues. My wrist hurts just thinking about the work done on all those deep shadows on each individual scale.
Beautiful piece!

Thank you very much!
After some of the huge pieces I've done - with scales, with colored pencils - pictures like this aren't too much trouble any more. Β

I've probably asked you this before, but I have horrible memory lol.Β How do you scan your stuff?Β Do you have a very high quality scanner at home, or do you take it somewhere else to get it professionally scanned?Β I've been trying to scan some of my colored stuff in and my scanner just can't seem to get the colors picked up cleanly like you have.
Also, as usual, beautiful artwork!Β You're always an inspiration for coloring!

LOL - Yes, I think you have asked before. Β But! Β I have the same problem, and have no issue answering questions again.
I do my own scanning. Β I use a Canon CanoScan 9000F Mark II. Β It has an ~8.5x11 scan bed, and it handles 3D objects like a champ. Β The less expensive models like you can get at office supply stores don't handle 3D well at all. Β If the paper isn't flat, these cheapies don't have the depth of field necessary to handle it. Β I also do some tweaking of the colors in Photoshop. Β The scanner, though it does a good job, sometimes misses out on some of the vibrancy of the colors.

LOL thanks for taking the time to answer again!
Interesting...I currently have an Epson Perfection V39, and it does a great job with black and white stuff, but it just seems to have a hard time picking up colors, or just melds all the pencil strokes together into a big blah.Β I end up losing a lot of details in my colored stuff because of it.Β I'll have to look at your scanner tho!

A bit of betta, a bit of koi, a bit of turtle-dragon too, I think... Β

I like the colors and the flowing effect of the fins!

Thanks very much!
It's not just an effect - there actually is a hole cut into the middle of the foreground. Β I've become enamored of layered stuff. Β Β

Thanks!
What takes time is finding the free time to get back to a project! Β I had to take a break from commissions so that I could get back to some of these artworks that have been sitting in my "desperately need to do" pile. Β
