Thanks very much! I had a lot of fun with this wild color scheme. Tropical fish patterns seem to bring that out in me.

Wow, great work with prismacolors O_o I wanna have try these pencils, but they're so expensive :/

Thanks very much!
The Prismas are worth the money, but yes, they are atrociously expensive. The Dick Blick brand are also very good (and less expensive), with similarly soft leads and an only slightly smaller range of colors.

Hello! I'm making a series of art videos about flowers, and I was wondering if I could include this piece in one of my videos. It would be set to an original classical-style composition (by me) about this flower. I'll be sure to credit you and link to your page if you say yes. Here's a link to see the kind of music it is: [link]

Thank you!
It all started with my attempt to cover up a mistake in my college watercolor class... But my professor liked the way I used colored pencil and watercolor together. She encouraged me to continue to play with the media together, and wild artwork like this is the end result after many years.

transcendent....
would you consider allowing me to get this as a tattoo?
I've been looking everywhere for some sort of non-traditional pegasus
these are by far the most gorgeous ones I've seen.

Thanks very much. I get my crazy color schemes from tropical fish and other sea critters, mostly. I look at some of those guys and think, "This guy CAN'T be real!" because the colors are so intense. Those are the best kind for pegasus-types and dragons.

By the time I finished working on the crazy color patterns, I was worried that I'd lost the muscular definition to some degree. I'm glad to know that you can see it well.

Thanks!
I look at it now and I think it's a little bit jarring. I may try something like this again with either a slightly more subdued color palette, or I'll bring up the chroma in the background so the creatures and background work together a bit better. But DANG, those horses were fun to color...

Thanks! Me too. I like to crush as much color into a project as I can most of the time, and since this project was primarily to satisfy my need to draw super-colorful pegasi, I went all-out.

This really came out wonderful. The color combinations work really well together, so that the piece is bright but not gaudy. The stylization of form and shading is very effective, and makes for a lively, attractive image.

Yeah, it's a very fine line between bright and gaudy. This one may be standing right on that line, ready to topple over.

Thanks very much!
Quite a bit of work went into the drawing and layout, but the color job was more elbow grease than anything else. I just kind of followed the general patterns on the tropical fish and then went for the Wacky Color Vibration Effect on the wings. It sure was a lot of fun, and it went pretty quickly, too!
