And a Happy New Year

This marks the first Christmas I've celebrated living in a new home - my family and I moved this year after living in the same house for nearly thirty years. It's the first year in ages without snow, away from familiar city streets and old faces...away from a lot of things I used to know. But I've also been immensely blessed: despite being unemployed for far longer than expected, I've been able to afford everything I need. I've been able to handle all the stress and grief and anxiety that has come my way, and the best of all: my whole family is with me for Christmas. I may miss the sound of falling snow, but it will never measure up to the sound of my family's laughter!

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season - wherever you are, whatever celebration you have, I hope it's filled with joy and love. I hope you look forward to the new year with excitement at the new opportunities and adventures we'll all have. Take good care of yourselves, and I'll see you next year!
