What cosplay means to me:
I've been cosplaying since 2005 and even before then I loved dressing up! Cosplay to me is about expressing yourself, acting and showing your common interest to the world. Cosplay is about making new friends, showing off your crafts and being who you are. I'm generally a shy person, my entire life I was the most shy person in my class, cosplay helped me build confidence and helped me break a shell I never knew existed. I am sure it is like that for many other cosplayers too! I love interacting with people who have the same interests as me, and even then, I love to share tips and advice on how to make costumes to those in need of help! The community is about helping each other and bringing characters to life. I love making kids smile when I cosplay Snow White or Harley Quinn. It's all about bringing happiness to the people around you. Bringing characters to life for little kids is the best feeling in the world! It's almost heartwarming to me to see a child smile as I interact with them. I'm glad to be a long term cosplayer, and hope to progress in my crafts!
