I loves spiders and I loves Spinarak, so I decided to attempt to.. realistify.. it and Ariados.Spinarak was pretty easy, it's basically a mix of tarantula and jumper (but oddly enough, is an orb weaver instead of a hunting spider.) If I had one in real life and it looked like this I would hug it SO MUCH. I would catch so many of them and just pet them all the time, seriously.
Ariados was a lot trickier but I think I pretty much got it how I figure it'd look. Here it's mostly a cross between an ant-mimic spider and a tarantula, the legfluffs were inspired by banana spiders' hairy legs, and the eyes are mantid/dragonfly based. I admit it ended up sort of creepy, but that wouldn't stop me from training a couple >_>
Also.. please do not comment to tell me you hate spiders or whatever. I don't wanna hear any of that.

This is good! Though I dunno if I'd pet that spinarak. I don't trust those fangs...
But I do like jumping spiders! I think they're cute, and don't scare me like most spiders do. And making ariados an ant mimic spider was also cool. I like ariados's fur. If I was very sure ariados wouldn't whip around and fang me, I might want to stroke that fuzzy abdomen! Though I bet Misty wouldn't be too happy...
I just wonder how these pokemon can call themselves arachnids with only six legs. Though nincada only has four legs... I'll concur with my comment on dragonite: pokemon have odd numbers of limbs.

I love the realistic view to it...but if I see one up close I think I would do a Misty and just start screaming and running

I know they aren't insects, they're arachnids. But still, I just don't like seeing close up pictures of them. I mean, I like Tarantulas, I had one as a pet as a kid. But, it's the other ones that creep me out, since they're so small, and can hide easier. Plus, I hate any kind of bug that bites, stings, or anything that hurts. I do like butterflys, worms, snails, stuff like that.

I'm just really touchy about spider comments >_>; I've got 12 tarantulas and a wolf spider living on my desk and I love them all, so it's always disconcerting to hear arachnophobic remarks XP

I understand. I actually use to be very scared of them, but I've gotten better about it. I just always been kind of jumpy around things that have more than 4 legs and can be as small as my fingernail.

The only bugs that really creep me out are wasps and june bugs x_x Wasps for obvious reasons, unlike most stingy things they can FLY and are quite happy to attack for no good reason. June bugs on the other hand, they just like to bumble directly into my face or into my clothes and they have really horrible scratchy legs and ughhhh X___X

Oh you know what you should have done! This is not so much a critique as it is something that always bothered me about these Pokemon: you should have given them eight legs. Otherwise they are just common insects and not arachnids

Well, I gave them six legs cos I figure they aren't really spiders, they're PokΓ©mon.. if they were straight-up spiders, they'd have eight eyes, eight legs, and a pair of pedipalps >__> I did make sure to stick their legs on their head segment though, the legs coming out of the abdomens got on my nerves a bit XP

Well I just figured since you were making them more realistic it would help to make them more like real spiders. Just what I would have done. It is good either way, though

I don't really hate LOOKING at spiders. But I wouldn't want to touch one. Or have one walk all over me. Especially one that looks like THAT.
