Alchemy ...the pursuit of turning base metals into gold ...just like the golden tones of autumn.This was in a stretch of forest I found the other day which looked for all the world like it had no access to it. With a bit more persistence I eventually found a narrow cow track which led around the edge of it between a farm and a field. The forest looked like it had been completely forgotten by the whole world.
Note on the panorama format: The picture was constructed from four separate vertical images stitched together in PS/CS2.

The colours are magnificent, the panorama construction apparently worked very well, at least I can't see any traces of the stitching.
