In the third "panel" Itachi is holding the same paper as in the anime before the massacre. It's a reference to that scene.
Certainly not the doujin I was talking about but oh well! I took a lot of liberties with this format. It's something that's been bothering me since forever so there. Peace.
Big ass file. Color management plz if your monitor makes it look reaaaally dark... it's my fault for not calibrating Photoshop. Argh. I'll fix it later.

I think this is one of my favourite pieces that feature Itachi on whole DeviantArt.
B&W color set works wonderful here, and I just love how full of emotion you made it.
I simply adore artists who try to show Itachi's struggle (I think generally there's too much emphasis put on Sasuke's pain instead)

I agree with you completely. I think the hardest part for me is the fact that he accepted it all with such grace and understanding, never bitter even though he had every right to.
For some reason chapter 508 made me feel even worse about it all - he looked so fragile and young when he was talking to Kisame (you probably know which panel I'm talking about), I just wanted to hug him really.
