Description My Figure Drawing midterm. We had to do a "live" drawing of a cast model in the studio, so for this I was in the studio drawing for ~30 hours (30 hours was required). I'm pretty pleased with it!

Time: ~30 hours
Medium: graphite pencils
Size: 18 x 24 inches

The shading and contrasty bits are what stand out most for me here, not to mention the degree of difficulty in getting the arm musculature on his right, given the hand position. Very nice!

I'll admit though (and I'm _no_ expert) that it seems as though the left leg isn't bringing me as much detail and well-defined muscle groups as the torso does. Is that on purpose?

Thank you! It was a challenge, but definitely fun.

An excellent catch: yes, I do feel like the left leg is lacking the same level of detail. It wasn't intentional; I suspect it's because we hadn't yet studied the legs to *any* degree at the time of the drawing.

Great job. I love how you can see the "construction lines" for some reason. Gives me a window into the artists, thought process .

Thanks! Yeah, I debated erasing them...but I liked the added sense of construction to it. Not to mention it helped a ton when it came to fitting the image into a proper rectangle. xD
