Description
Liberation features Aya Brea against Eve Pearce from the cult classic PS1 videogame, Parasite Eve. I took some creative liberties with Aya's transformation. I know in the game she's more green and her hair is more... flappy? O_o Thus, I gave her a more updated and stylish look. I also replaced the simple tats on her body with something more tribal. I really wanted to make Aya both sexy *and* frightening. As for Eve, I really loved her with the red dress so I used that one here instead of her final transformation.
I'll be selling this as a two-part poster at the cons. WHO WILL YOU SIDE WITH? Eve? Or Aya?

A good rule of thumb is to always side with the purple chick.

I'm imagining this in print and it's doubly cool that way, with the two halves splitting down the middle of Liberty's face. (I, liek, have no idea of anything about PE or if it actually has the statue in the game somewhere, but if the fight is about finding freedom and the print version will have Liberty divided in half, I find that clever.)
And I really love Eve's face. The angle doesn't look contrived, but pretty natural and expressive. With voluminous lips. <3

Yep, I'm currently setting up my files for postcards and El Co posters. *__* I'll have those sent to you and Amanda today. I'm anxious to see which side (good-Aya; bad-Eve) people will choose at the cons.
Eve was my favorite of the pair. I liked her angle and lips. I made sure to make them ruby red.

the final battle with Eve takes place at the base of the statue so that's the significance ;D (they also focus on it quite a bit in the loltastic-once-amazing cutscenes). Liberation is also the final day/second to last (I forget, but there is also a discrepency between the game and the book on this one) of the 6 day evolution period that is taking place in the game, where in the mitocondria cells inside people's bodies are liberating themselves to be their own beings without the need for humans, while Aya's own cells are actively fighting AGAINST this rebellion. You need to play it !!

PE forever indeed! I really hope they make a sequel to Third Birthday and soon. So many issues with that game and I really don't want to wait a whole decade for a new PE game.
