This reminds me of the plasma rifles the elites use in Halo.

Very cool ship. I like the subtle segmentation and the layered shapes.

About the contest's requirements... I don't understand why they bothered saying they wanted line drawings.
Requiring orthogonal views would have been enough.

i think all this contest was strange

Really strong modelling and texturing, but I feel the design could be a little more striking. The back-bottom area (where the read bits are) detract a little from the really strong curved top area. If these where a little smaller it might help the sense of scale. Though after playing Eve for the 21 day trial, sense of scale seemed to be a problem with most ships.

The way you have textured this makes me think of a gun rather than a space ship. You have a whole lot of high level detail but nothing that really sells the scale of it. If you choose not to have windows or doors, you need to find another way to put forward that it's a space ship, even if it's an unmanned one.

For a small handheld object, the level of detail is very nice, however for a space ship, you really need to go in there and work a bit more on the small stuff.

I'm not a connoisseur of 3d software and rendering, but I must say I really like the shading and lighting on this one. Can you tell me what software or plugins you used to render this? The design looks great, btw. Good luck!

Hi I used SketchUp for 3D, iRender for rendered pics and Photoshop for overpaint and illustrate two ISO views.

hope it help.

Thanks for comment.

Dude, you made a better model and setting in SketchUp, than a lot of people that used big-ass/big-money software like Maya or 3DS, so you have a great deal of respect from me

Thanks for sharing, I might need to make some 3d ship models from my 2d concept sketches soon, and It's nice to see one can do something this nice with SketchUp. Mine are more angular, by demand, so I guess SketchUp will do nice.

Hehe Thank you, Sketchup got some potential.

...Ye on begin i make fast 2D concepts sketches in ps or on paper with all views, then i try model it in 3D, so I wish U luck with your ship.
