the notification area icons are from which theme or did you manually customize them?

It's some icons that I've been working on, Tray Icons for Gnome, and you can get them here: [link]

The GTK theme is egtk (elementary GTK ) and the window decoration is eRedux, an Emerald theme, but I modified it so it doesn't have border on both sides

Yeah, sure, but I've only made the icons that you can see on the screenshot, and they're size is 19x19 pixels... do you still want them?

Download the icons from here:

You will find 3 versions for each icon:
- Monochrome style,
- Colored style with grey lower bar,
- Colored style (even the lower bar).
Enjoy them!

Actually, is Covergloobus, and I've made the skin moments ago that's why it is so simple
but I kinda wanted that way
if you want, I can release it, but I must say, it's pretty simple, it doesn't even has buttons or info for the song (that's why I'm using the Panflute Applet for the lower panel)

It's amazing... So you're saying that you used a lower panel instead a dock... so the "EM", "PG", etc. are icons?
π: 0 β©: 1
rafeviper In reply to magicrusso [2010-11-25 03:59:05 +0000 UTC]
Exactly used Icons that I've just made minutes before I made the screenshot
I think they look ok
But I must say I'm using DockbarX for the lower panel

Very very cool!!!
I think that the good ol' two panel layout can be as good as any use of docks! This is an appropriate example!

Exactly dude! That was what I was trying to prove here I was trying to find a way to make my desktop look good, but using a lower panel instead of a dock and, of course, using less resources
π: 0 β©: 1
StingBL In reply to rafeviper [2010-11-25 20:49:15 +0000 UTC]
I agree...having a bottom dock is comfortable and cool and all you want but sometimes make me think if my desktop is losing its linux identity (we all know which OS people imagine when they see a dock).
Certainly the double panel layout is more linked to a linux desktop, at least to a Gnome linux desktop...and it has its practical benefits too.
I tried to "revamp" the two panel look by myself too, as you can see in my gallery...I combined AWN's panel mode with dockbarX taskbar, but I will definitely replace AWN with gnome panel for a matter of resources saving.
Looking at you screenshots is a great inspiration!
By the way, I suggest you to try window-applets too...eliminating window decorations on maximized windows let you save the vertical space tha you lost using a second panel! Imho, they should be default in vanilla gnome!
Thanks for the reply, cheers!

Thanx for your words
And I agree with you, using a lower panel is a nice choice when you want to save resources, and if you wanna make it look good, all you need is a little inspiration using 2 panels doesn't mean your desktop is going to look ugly
it's all up to you.
About the window-applets, there is a long time since I don't use maximized windows, that was a habit that I quited since I stopped using Windows
but thanx the for suggestion anyway
it's a really cool option when wanna save more space

Well, i don't know your screen size, but with my 15" laptop sometimes it is inevitable to use maximized windows

Mine is the same size
I don't know, I know there are bigger screens out there, but I'm ok with this one
