Every now and then, I toy with the idea of getting back into comic strips. A few years ago, I developed this template. Using an 11x17 color printer (such as the HP Deskjet 9650), print a few of these out, attach to a board, and get drawing. The template is based on Don Rosa's work, as outlined in an interview found on this web page .

Features include:

Guides for comic strip panels in either 2x2 or 3x2.

Properly sized for a multi-function copier/scanner -- feed a bunch of 11x17s through the document feeder.

Two can be placed over-and-under for a full comic book page. A comic formatted this way could be presented as both a web comic strip (in the half pagers) and in the print version (by combining two for a single page.)

Grid for use as lettering guide (dotted line for tops of letters, solid lines for underside).
