Fanart of Excel from Excel Saga. I'm quite happy with this, but I was lazy on the lighting, so that's not very good. Open sunlight is quite tricky.Ink, Painter & Photoshop.

Thanks. Nah, Hyatt is pretty boring. No interesting looks either. Seems like even Rikdo is starting to forget her, she hasn't really had a big role in the last 3-4 books.

Aww, that's a shame. I always liked Hyatt personally. Elgala was second in my book ^_^. Excel is silly, but I just like the other two more. That's just me though. Keep up the great work! ^_^

She got the suit from one of her old part-time jobs and they said she could keep it if she could clean it up. I have no idea what kind of job calls for this kind of jump suit but from the way she made it seem, it must have been pretty messy.

Nah, it's her old middle school swimsuit... she's just to cheap to buy a new one. I guess she actually did go to school like a normal person at some time... this would be before she joined Across, of course. Did she have a real name back then? Is "Kotono Kobayashi" just another alias or a grain of truth? Of course, she's obviously not actually Japanese...

Hmm, I explicitly remember her saying that she aquired the suit from one of her old part-time jobs. She even said so in that episode. And of course she went to high-school. That was made clear in the first episode where she is knocking down people on her way out. . . right before getting hit by a truck. While she certainly looks more western caucation than other anime characters, that's no surprise because the only guys on the show who look Japanese at all are Watanabe and Sumiyoshi. Of course, Japan currently has the dubious honor of being the most ethnically homogenious country in Asia so it's no surprise that many animes have a diverse cast of crazies.

Ah, you go by the anime... I try to stay away from that canon as much as possible, since it's Nabeshin's show and has very little to do with the original.
Read the manga, and you'll see both that she's a cheapskate, and that she's definitely not Japanese...
Also read it because it's the greatest thing since the sun.

I was totally fail-exclaimed by a user in another forum becuase he didn't think I did the eyes just the right way, therefore making any relation to Excel impossible.

Actually this is the real Excel
Excel Kobayashi is Excel's standin in the anime episode where they're making a Excel Saga TV show. Excel Kobayashi is of course voiceacted by the awesome Yumiko Kobayashi, who later got the role as Poemi Watanabe in Puni Puni Poemy. Miss Kobayashi is totally insane, talking even faster than Ms Mitsuichi, who's doing Excel's role.
Excel's real name is suggested in the Manga, even if she says it's just an alias. Can't remember what it is now, though. She got stuck with "Convoy Butterfly" as a "normal" alias though, as she's supposed to be foreign (not comfirmed either).

As the manga has continued long after anime(and still is), I suspect this is a wink towards the anime fans from Rikdo Koshi's side...
The anime reflects the manga and vice versa. Geez, what a popcultural mess.
