Description
A custom Minimate of Robocop I put together this week. Not a lot of prep work was needed for this once since it has no specialty pieces, but it still took awhile to finish because the silver paint I was using dried at an intolerably slow pace. I originally planned to make the helmet a separate piece that could slide off the head, but scrapped the idea when I just wasn't happy with the aesthetic. Also I originally drew some of the details of the suit onto the figure's legs, but they came off looking more like heiroglyphics, so I painted them back over again. Sometimes less is more. The finished figure stands just over 2" tall."Thank you for your cooperation. Good night."

Thanks! And oh yes, I remember watching the cartoon. I have a couple of the episodes on VHS around this place... somewhere...
I remember there was an ep where Clarence Boddicker came back! Pretty odd considering he had his jugular vein severed by Robo's data spike...

No way, Clarence Boddicker came back? I don't remember that, then again, i was still a young'un, I probably didn't know who he was at the time The firstmovie was just loads of awesome but I really enjoyed the second one alot too. Murphy's enterance in the second movie was one of my favorite parts XD

Word up!! I'm a fan of Robocop 2 as well. I remember seeing the trailer the year before the movie hit theaters, where it showed looters shooting up a police car, filling it with holes, then blowing it up with a rocket launcher. I had little clue it was another Robocop movie... until that hydraulic foot hit the ground! This was before the heyday of the "internetz", so I had no idea a sequel was even on the way. Intros like that are an instant crowd-pleaser, but it seems like they're done less and less these days. TMNT II also had a cool opening like that.

That was the trailer? Wow, to think there wass actually a time wothout the net. The next best part of that movie is the battle with Kain. Speaking of which, Robocop 2 is actually on Action Channel right now!! ^__^ Love TMNT II too!

Thanks much! I agree, a scale ED-209 would be a pretty cool companion piece. I'll add it to my mental "to do" list.

awesome truely i love this "drop it creep." i wish robocop 3 never happened. i equaly with that miller would do robocop vs the terminator cause seeing how he does movies we'd love his work.

Thank you!! And I agree, Robocop 3 was craptacular! I'm surprised it didn't go straight to video.
I really think the Robocop property has more life left in it, so I hope they can revive it someday. I saw Peter Weller on an episode of Monk a year or two ago and he still looked thin enough to wear the suit. That's of course assuming he'd want to play Robo again.

he already said he'd never dawn the suit again...they are talking remake that would forget robocop 2 and 3 thought i never fully understood why people have such hate for robocop2 i love it alot. right now it's future is up in the air. i just want if not robocop vs the terminator it would still be cool if miller wrote a robocop movie cause his movies are awesome.

I can understand why people didn't like the fact that a little kid was a killer and drug dealer in the movie, but I personally thought Robo 2 was kickass. The intro, the raid on Cain's hideout, the satirical commercials, the Little League looters! A little something for everyone...
I doubt we'll see a Robo vs Terminator movie now that Terminator seems to be getting its own new trilogy, but I still hold out hope that Robo will return one day. And NOT a remake! The original Robocop was a masterpiece and the effects and make-up work easily stand the test of time.

Good time to be on DA for my part.
Whoo hoo this is awesome. I agree not every detail is needed with this, just the essentials. It's something I realized when i started doing chibis.
He looks so badass, even strolling down Tablecloth street.
