He's always the best Tigger and Dastardly to me as well as Gargamel. What a memorable cackle he can make

So was he the one who introduced the half-hour version of The Banana Splits?

If Paul Winchell voiced Tigger in the New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, why was he replaced in season 3 by Jim Cummings? Also, if he was replaced why did Winchell voice Tigger in the Holiday specials?

i think Winchell's voice was begining to weaken and Jim had to stand in as Tigger him when Paul was unavailable. i think eventually it became harder for winchell to come back and play the role.
like in "Winnie the pooh, search for Christopher Robin" Winchell played tigger, while in 'the Tigger movie', Jim became the official voice of Tigger.
This is also similar situation in the Gummi bears, like Winchell voiced Zummi until season 5 and retired. then Cummings had to continue the role for the rest of the series.
I think Winchell was the best at both these roles but Cummings was a worthy successor

A very nice tribute to Paul Winchell. I know he played that Siamese in The Aristocats but I'm not sure about his name being Shou Gon, since his name was never mentioned in the movie. However, there was a comic book called "O'Malley and the Alley Cats" in which his name is Chino.
Paul was also Boomer the woodpecker in "The Fox and the Hound", and Clyde and Softy in "The Perils of Penelope Pitstop"

he was a brilliant voice actor.
did you know that tim burton did animation in 'the fox and the hound'?

yeah, i think he had some creative differences with disney, like they didn't agree with his unique horror style.

Well Tim Burton does things that can be quite dark. Disney didn't seem to mind "Nightmare Before Christmas".

Awesome pic, oh yeah, I'd say I'm pretty at spotting Paul Winchell's voice, he also did a couple villains in "The Impossibles" such as Aquator and the Diabolical Dauber. He really was truly awesome for all his roles, may he R.I.P. and may Jim Cummings do him proud.

What about the Dread Baron from "Yogi Bear and the Magical Flight of the Spruce Goose", oh sure he was meant to be a lawyer friendly version of Dick Dastardly and he didn't voice him in the Laff-A-Lympics but he did voice Dread Baron in the made for TV movie.

well, i just thought dick dastardly and dread baron were almost the exact same character, so i just thought of drawing just one...
but why couldnt they have dick dastardly in the 'yogi bear' special?

Technomaru In reply to raggyrabbit94 [2013-03-02 03:18:03 +0000 UTC]
[link] <== This will explain everything. However it has something to do with Dick Dastardly and Muttley and the other Wacky Racers being Co-owned by a game show company and in order to not pay those rights they created Dread Baron and Mumbly, yeah I was wondering that too since they did use Dick Dastardly and Muttley in "Yogi's Treasure Hunt" earlier.

oh, that makes sence... didnt know that, guess when the characters belongs to 2 seperate companies you need substitutes.
kinda like disney and roger rabbit, like disney wanted to make a roger rabbit tv series but he was also co-owned by touchstone, so instead they created bonkers t.bobcat.
