Weeeeeeeeeeellll I guess I'll upload this. This was my entry to a certain epic Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time fanart contest. (It's over now.)This didn't come out as well as I'd liked and I'm actually not entirely satisfied. Inspiration for an entry didn't strike until a few days before the deadline, which, of course, was in the middle of midterms. After my last midterm on the last day of the contest, I ran home to draw this and experienced a large assortment of computer problems. In the end, I used three different computers (one Mac, two were PCs) and drew it in two computer labs. I had a period of eight hours to draw the whole thing, start to finish, and probably at least half of that was spent restarting computers, downloading and installing drivers and hardware, running back and forth across campus, and packing and unpacking all my dumb hardware over and over again.
Anyway, I didn't win the contest. I placed 17th, but there were 170+ entries, so that's not so bad. I'm actually surprised I did so well. There were so many amazing entries. I encourage you to go through them on the contest website and seeeee.

Wow,that's epic! The perspective is great,the fish's body seems so real and the water effect is well done too. The only thing that looks a bit strange to my eyes is Link's right arm,but don't worry about it,it could just be me!It was a very difficult pose to make indeed.Bravo!!!

where is the rod to catch it? I've never been able to find it.

Uh, well, there is only one rod, which is the one you get from the itchy fishing pond employee. There's a special lure, though, which is somewhere random around the pond. It's invisible and its location changes every time, so you just have to walk around until you find it. A little message will appear that says "you found the sinking lure!" or something to that effect. The sinking lure helps you catch the loach...but it's still hard.

it says look around the perimeter of the pond and I don't know if it means the perimeter of the water or the wall where the grass is. or even if it's IN the water.

Just look everywhere, seriously. Sometimes it's in the grass around the edge, or in that little stream... I think once I found it on the log in the center of the pond but usually it's somewhere on the ground around the outside of the pond. It's not in the water.

But not for lack of trying. D: Although my friend and I managed to catch the fish pond clerk's hat, and we were so excited and ran into the pond with it.... and promptly lost it. The clerk made us pay for it. D:

oh...Well, I figured out the trick to get it to APPEAR... but that doesn't make it any easier to CATCH the friggin thing!

actually...it's been so long since I did it...the last time I played was over thankgiving break, but I didn't go fishing. I just played through the whole game in one day. Time: ~8.5 - 9.5hours
When I caught it, I spent a loooong time just staring at it trying to figure out if there was a certain length of time it stayed underwater. I was a long wait...
