I don't have any such tutorials, myself, but there are a few around dA that you could look at. Unfortunately, most of the wing tutorials are pretty awful. Here's the best one I found in about ten minutes of looking: [link] It's pretty good but it doesn't talk about ptagiums at all. But it's a good starting point.
Read this tutorial and then look at a million pictures of bird wings until things start to make sense.

Just to answer this. Dragons technically should have large rid areas to be capable of flight. The would need large lungs and the rib area would need to be heavily muscled for them to be able to power those wings so they can fly.
Look at any winged animal and you will notice lots of muscles in the area of the ribcage

What a rude comment. Rah drew this to my specifications, and furthermore, dragons aren't real creatures on this Earth, so how should a dragon's anatomy be? We don't really know.
Is there any realistic reason, therefore, why you have to be critical in a rude fashion instead of constructive criticism? Serious question.

You know it's funny, I finally get around to seeing your own page and what's the first thing I notice? A rather chucky, well-rounded and flightless picture of your namesake as the featured deviation. Mind you, you ARE a talented artist, but you want to talk about "giant cow with massive flank"? Your dragon , especially without wings, looks EXACTLY like that.

I'm still waiting for you to send an apology to Rah. She's still a far more advanced artist than you anyday, and you could stand to learn things from her, rather than criticize. Me? No, I don't draw, I admit I have no talent in that department. But I do know good art when I see it.

Although I usually don't like dragons with feathers, this was very, very beautiful. My first thought when I saw her was "Vervada" (Saphiras mother, for those who don't know). Very well done.

Hm hm.. Beautiful. Only, the sheet says that the spines start big at the head and gradually get smaller until the base of the tail. I only see the spines going to the middle of her back in the side view. There are none going down to her tail. Are they like tiny little spur thorns?

No, the spines go only to the base of the tail (i.e. the top/back of the hips) rather than the tip of the tail. They eventually become really tiny, like little bumps, but because the way the wings are folded (or unfolded) they disappear behind the feathers in the side views. If you look hard you can see how they are in the view from above.
