*Taken from my blog [link] *Harry Potter never grabbed my interest enough and Twilight just isn't my cup of tea. My wife has read both series in their entirety and loved them both. Seeing her get so deep into both series re-ignited my hunger to read a novel series, myself. After seeing the trailers and getting very caught up in them, I chose to start reading Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief.... and I am loving it! I don't have a lot of time to sit and read everyday, though. I usually do so when I can't draw and I have only gotten to chapter 2. Can't wait to get further along!
So, Percy is the subject of today's blog sketch. Hope you guys dig it!
On a work related note...I got TONS of work to finish this week and I have been excited to get right into the thick of it. Haven't felt this good about work since Spider-Man Family. Hope I can keep up this momentum for the next 5-6 months, though.
*Note: If you haven't noticed already, I am setting up most of my sketches to color later when my schedule opens up more. Anyone else who is interested in coloring any of these pieces feel free to email me and ask for the hi-res.

haha. thats funny. i have been meaning to get into a book as well. my wife is a big book reader herself and i just watched her read all 8 or 9 of the true blood books in like 2 weeks and i got inspired to read some. and my story is pretty much the same, saw the percy trailer and figured that was right up my alley. i just got to chapter 11 last night. i am trying to finish it before the movie comes out so i can go see it. but, it's a great book. really fun.
other than that ramble, sketch looks great. except for like you said, his wrist may be a little thick. but, easy fix if you ever get to color it. great expression

I bought the book yesterday in order to read it before the movie and I must say I really liked it.....took me a whole day to get through it.Hope the movie does it justice...now on to book 2

I figured it was a days read, too. It's 22 chapters and I read the first 2 in about 45 mins. or less. It moves pretty fast.

It's a fun read. Not genius stuff by any measure but I'm almost done with the last book and it's been a fun ride.

Well I read all of the Harry Potter books and I'm a big ole fan.
Twilight...if you EVER see me reading one of those, you have my permission to punch me in the face. I read a couple chapters of the first book and almost slit my wrists afterwards. It's so bad it might as well be written in lolcat speak for the literary quality it has in it.

LOL!!! Yeah, I read about 6 or 7 pages of the first book and felt the same way.
Harry Potter..Well, I don't have anything negative to say about the series at all. I guess it just didn't give me the same feeling I had when I saw Percy Jackson. I'm pretty sure it's because I'm dense...LOL!

Ya know, I was gonna rag on you about being your own worst critic, but you made me look over it again and I kind of see what you are talking about. The wrist probably should be a tad bit thinner. Still a great sketch though.
