Description
Fox-orian's template of the Influence Map has been going around and I thought it would be both a great break activity to do and a good way for everyone to see what is at the very heart of my work. These are the core artists, musicians, and people that are responsible for creating what happens on the page for me. Although, there are just a few more big influences on my work that do not appear here, most of them are there for you to see.Yep. This is pretty much me, folks. Check it out. Hope you get a feel of the stuff that swirls around in my head!

You made me realize I should have mentioned my dad in mine. He's the one who helped me learn the right way to put together comics and create proper storytelling through panels...not to mention the man who encouraged me to start writing. I can't believe I let that one slip.

I still think Eureka 7 is one of the best animes i have ever seen Studio Bones animate. The Nirvash model kicks major ass and same with the TB 303 Devil Fish. Amazing work that studio does.
Joey Mads is def a fav of mine. Battle Chasers still remains as of my all time favorite comics. i really hope this template gets around. I would to see what other highly talented artists influences are.

that nightwing #1 cover was done by Brian Stelfreez, not Scott McDaniel.
the first 3 issues were done by Brian before Scott did the rest until he moved on.

Brian did the covers to the first 3 issues of the 4-issue mini right before Scott took the book over and restarted the series with Dixon and Story with a new #1..aka Nightwing Vol. 2 #1.
I've heard that a site called Cover Browser is notorious for getting that all wrong. Especially when the covers of issues #2-3 actually show McDaniel's signature on them.

Great influence map. I'm always surprised to see what's on these (like, I wouldn't figure Eminem would be an influence) but it's the personal touch that makes them awesome.
Gah, need to get photoshop, as I'd love to do one of these...

I grew up listening to Prince and as I got older he seemed to always have a song that reflected what I was going through. He writes deeply and passionately and he always stays true to himself. Even if that truth changes and becomes less marketable, it's still the integrity of his beliefs that's tantamount to whatever he creates. The man is a true musical genius, IMHO. Behind the mic or in the studio making other people famous. Even going so far as using aliases on their albums so that they get as much attention as possible instead of getting overpowered by the celebrity attached to his name.
Those are just a few traits of his that I admire about him.

It's so cool to see stuff like this! Scoot McDaniel is one of my fave artists as well. (His work on Nightwing is AMAZING.) I was surprised to see Eminem in there, but after reading your description I understand now. Rock on!
