Description
Shaolin monks practicing. I've done this piece as a humble present to my Kung Fu master. Now it decorates the wall of our school.Vector + photoshop for some details and texturing. I wanted the style to resemble a stained glass window. The actual size is 2.30 mtr x 1.10 mtr.
Thanks for watching

Thank you! Actually, I am working on the last image for the series, which is going to be the final piece in the decoration of my Master's school. And it is going to be about the Taoist masters practicing Xingyiquan

Thank you! The figure on the left is Bodhidharma, the legendary founder of Shaolin temple, usually described as a "bearded barbarian". Figure on the right is an image of a monk passing his final warrior test: lifting a burning iron bowl and so earning the burnt signs of tiger and dragon on his forearms.

My personal knowledge comes mostly from the Kung Fu school I've been studying at for the last 15 years. Also there are a lot of things written and filmed about Shaolin monastery. Master Wong Kiew Kit wrote several good history books about Shaolin Monastery. Also there are 3 wonderful movies with Jet Li filmed around 80's - "Shaolin Temple 1-3"
