Description
This beautiful McDonnell-Douglas F-4D Phantom II is on display at the Aviation Heritage Park in Bowling Green, KY. This plane was piloted by Brigadier General Edward Daniel Cherry, once a Bowling Green resident. This plane fought in the Vietnam War, and has quite the story to go along with it. This plane shot down a camouflaged MiG-21 during the war, and the pilot of the shot down plane, Lieutenant Nguyen Hong My, was a guest of honor when the park with this plane formally opened in 2009.Related content

My pleasure. I would also suggest to go to the National Corvette Museum and Car Plant. There are a lot of nice Corvettes in the museum, but some of the most valuable carsΒ in the museum's collection got swallowed into a sinkhole about one year ago. All cars were extracted, but some got really mangled up.

I've read about that. I hope to make it up that way one day.

I actually saw the sinkhole a few months before it was supposedly filled in. Six of the eight cars that were in the sinkhole. Two that weren't there, the ZR1 Blue Devil and the 1 million Corvette, were sent for fixing up.
