The brown layer is underneath the white color layers (I lowered the opacity of each layer so that the sketch was visible.) Technically this is a lineless style. I erase from the white layers to add "lines" (ie the brown layer shows through). You could just line normally though, but I like the irregular/chunky style that this technique gives. Hope that helps!
