I made this piece a while ago, and since then it has seen several remakes and incarnations. This picture is of one of my favorite versions, semi-realistic with a bit of a cartoon roundness to it. My main inspiration behind this was the staggering amount of steampunk things flooding the market that...honestly don't seem very "steampunk" to me. We all know the adage "glue some gears on it and call it steampunk", so my goal was to make something that didn't involve gears, cameos, of glass vials, but was still recognizably steampunk. I've also made one in silver that I dubbed "The Tinman's Heart" but that one didn't turn out as well
