Description
- Dead. Dead Erin.
So, this is the second assignment for my Design Foundations class: a Self-portrait as a playing card. Although I chose a Tarot card instead-number 19, The Sun. I've always felt a very strong connection to both the sun and the moon, and had difficulty choosing between the sun and the moon, because while the moon generally stands for creativity and the influence of the subconscious mind, it also has so negative connotations that I did not want to represent. So I went with the sun and consciously ignored the scientific representations! Here's a more detailed meaning:
"The Sun is ruled by...the Sun, of course. This is the light that comes after the long dark night, Apollo to the Moon's Diana. A positive card, it promises the Querent their day in the sun. Glory, gain, triumph, pleasure, truth, success. As the moon symbolized inspiration from the unconscious, from dreams, this card symbolizes discoveries made fully conscious and wide awake. This is science and math, beautifully constructed music, carefully reasoned philosophy. It is a card of intellect, clarity of mind, and feelings of youthful energy. And, yes, the child/children in this card can be taken literally if other cards in the spread seem to suggest it. Your Querent can be informed that a wanted and most welcome babe will soon be on the way. Likely a boy, or twins." [link]
THIS TOOK SO FUCKING LONG. Probably around 30 hours of work, at least. It's all on photoshop, and the original image was 10x17 at 300 dpi. So yeah.
You're going to have to click download to see the image. It's not huge. It is so worth it, if I do say so my self.
© Erin Elizabeth Hunter, 2010. DO NOT STEAL THIS, MOTHERFUCKERS.
P.S. If you watch me, you may notice I've submitted this once before. Well, I fucked up before and am now attempting to fix that!

I just want to let you know that when I clicked download, it actually downloaded your original PSD version of the file to my desktop. I'm not sure if that was what you were intending or not, but it makes it really easy to remove the watermark and steal the image this way. On a side note, when I saw it larger I noticed you put your face in there! So cool!

- Yeah, I haven't converted it from PSD yet 'cause college is kicking my ass. But I plan on doing so soon.
