This way everything keeps fluid and neat.
Method used both in [link] and [link]
This is supposed to be a basic tutorial.
It would be soo long if I added all my tips and details :<
I was planning to do the hershey's holder tutorial next but I lost my folding paper ;_;'' OTL
Hope this helps for any flash animation beginners!

You put the music in before hand, and match it up with the beats.
You can find royalty-free music at websites online built specifically around flash animations.

When I try to import music it says "One or more files were not imported because there were problems reading them" Also, how do you make midpoints?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
RainCookie In reply to TenshiHime963 [2009-04-24 02:16:27 +0000 UTC]
It's probably because it's in the wrong music format. Sometimes it has problems with picking up on .wav files. Try converting them to mp3 first

This is so helpful~ May I ask how to apply the midpoint method to clothes and hair?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
RainCookie In reply to irisieren [2009-02-22 03:10:38 +0000 UTC]
Glad it helped!
And it's a little more tricky when it comes to clothes and hair :c (I know. I tried OTL )
The problem with clothes are (if you're doing it anime-style; not simple western cartoon style) that the wrinkles of the clothes change constantly as the character moves :c It's hard to explain D; All I could recommend is for you to watch a good animation show/series and "study" the flow the movements xD; (good excuse to watch a good show, no?)
Otherwise, if it's pretty simple like my bunny character, the same could still apply.
Hope it helped! Good luck!

Ohhh YES it's so difficult ;n;
But I guess I have a good reason to watch all the anime's now xD
Thank you!

Cori, I have a question. On my flash, when I import music, it always plays the WHOLE song even after I pause it. It didn't always do that, so Im not sure If it's a setting or something. If it is, can you tell me how to undo it? :3

OMG wer do u buy flash lol?!?!?!?
I'm kidding. I have learned a lot from this tutorial... Thanks for that. I had no clue what an onion skin was until I saw this (which is actually quite sad, since I have had flash for about 4 years and could never properly learn anything because everyone is practically oblivious).
I shall now animate something. You have inspired me.
Ah, before I leave to attempt something I'm incapable of, do you know of any good tutorial websites (or any other tutorials) that are useful (that can be used with flash mx 2004)? ...Since I know now that you are an infinite stream of amazing flash knowledge and prowess. I would very much appreciate it!
Thanks again!!!

Thanks a lot, it's very useful, I took classes for traditional animation but I wasn't sure how to translate it to flash without doing it all on paper and them just scan all the frames...

Hey I was wondering if Brush or Pen is better for drawing because I just got Flash MX yesterday. And I really have no clue what to use if I want to start animating... I find brush tool super easy but most people prefer pen though I don't know how to use it.
Do you know of any pen tutorials? Or should I stick with brush. >>;

It just all boils down to whatever you're comfortable with ^^ It doesn't really matter : )
