Another view of my previous space room illustration [link] that I rendered since then. I feel pity to left it alone, so I decide to give it a little cosmetic lift....(well, actually a *heavy* cosmetic lift, esp. the girl face and hair)
β TOOLS:
Modelling, Rendering- Cinema4D + Vray
Model base - Makehuman
Model sculpting - Zbrush
Touching up - Paintool SAI
Post processing - Photoshop

Love the sci-fi theme and the overall ambiance, inspiring to the calm and cosy moment in a futuristic home.
As said by some others deviants below, the eyes are maybe slightly too high, or maybe this effect is due to her glasses and haircut...
Very realistic hair btw, almost photo-realistic! Great work!

hehe, Thank you as always!
Looks like many people mention about her face indeed. I think the glasses make me confuse when positioning the eyes and other part.
Or hey, I know the reason, I place the glasses too high (so that the eyes have to move alond wit hit when I repaint!

Her eyes are a bit too high and spaced between but if I think it may be an effect provoked by the glasses then it has an explanation. My grandma used to wear glasses like that because of her bad sight and is the cheapest kind of glass.

Thank you for your comment!
I found that it's because I place the glasses position too high in the first place, so that I have to move the eyes along with it when I repaint her face later.

There's something a bit weird about her face, but otherwise, this looks absolutely amazing.

there's too much space between the eyes and mouth. The mouth is on the chin, and eyes on the forehead. It looks like the facial features are too...long? for the face shape itself.

...Now that I look at it, yeah, that's right. Everything is a little bit too spaced out. If the mouth were to move up by an inch or two, and ditto with the eyes, then it'd look a bit more human.
RAINDROPMEMORY, I AM NOT SAYING IT LOOKS BAD. D: It's just a little weird, that's all! >__<

Yeah. I love how he (he's a he, right?) has been doing these beautiful digital paintings, and then started doing 3D digital paintings. It completely blew my mind, because of how realistic they look.

this is one of my faveourites of yours
can you show us step by step process of how you do your work?
π: 0 β©: 1
Raindropmemory In reply to PixelPandaa [2012-08-18 13:58:37 +0000 UTC]
Well, not much I can say since I'm also beginner at 3D scene.
But
1) My modelling or scene is nothing special at all. They are just basic shape combine together!
2) The original rendered image is so ugly, especially the girl [link] , So my first step is always be 'paint'over the girl face and hair with Photoshop (or in my case my usual painting software, Paintool SAI)
2) The thing that make different is the post process in Photoshop. I have my usual tools
- Change the brightness/Contrast with Brightness/Contrast or Curve tool
- Edit colors using Color Balance (Ctrl+B) and Selective Color tools
- Some burn and dodge tools here and there
I keep on using these tools again and again, nothing more really. There is no fix step of how to accomplish it, it varied by each illustration. But these are all the tool I use.
3) On last step for me is to add little noise effect, blur effect and most importantly lens effect using 'Lens Correction' command to create the chromatic aberration. I do this in every work as final step to make my illustration look 'not perfect' I want it to look natural as much as I can.
Is it helpful? Feel free to ask me if you have question.

wow! i didn't know you do so much post processing, there is a big difference between the two
i really love the original render
i like the idea of adding lens correction
one last question, did you make the hair and style of it for the girls? or are they included with milk shape?
